Domaine Sarrazin had made a delicious wine with more juicy, up-front fruit than usual.  this Burgundy (from Givry) is 100% Pinot Noir and has lovely fresh red berry fruit aromas, a hint of earthiness on the nose followed through with a well-structured, concentrated palate.

Frei Brothers Reserve wines poses a fruit-forward character with intense aromas and flavors that reflects the land and climate that created the grapes.  The 2003 Syrah is big and rich with earthy aromas and flavors of dark blue and black berries, with a hint of black pepper spice.  Balanced with subtle notes of smoke and toast, this full-bodied Syrah has intense flavors with soft tannins and a long, intense finish.

From family-owned vineyard located outside of the tiny, medieval Tuscan town of Monterigioni this 100% Sangiovese is far more serious and complex than the modest price would suggest. It is light- to medium-bodied, with a nose redolent of berry fruit, spice, and cherries. It's smooth, easy to drink with fine tannins and a long, berry-tinged finish.
