TXACOLÍ, Berroja, Coastal Basque, Spain 2013 Sustainably grown Light yellow with a slightly "spritzy" effervescent character similar to vinho verdes from Portugal. Spicy aromas of pear, lemon pith, fresh herbs and chalky minerals. Very dry, with incisive citrus and underripe orchard fruit flavors and a kick of white pepper. CHARDONNAY, Les Charmes, Mâcon Lugny, France, 2012 It has an attractive bouquet of apple-blossom and lime flower that is very well-defined and expressive with hints of Alpine stream and a touch of almond in the background. SANGIOVESE, MALVASIA, ALICANTE - Mocali - Morellino di Scansano, Montalcino, Italy 2011 From a great Brunello di Montalcino house, this wine is deep ruby/purple in color. It is jam-packed with luscious, spicy, black cherry and black currant fruit flavors. The palate feel is soft yet structured and accented by tobacco and leather hints. A note of black tea creeps in as this firms up on the tannic finish. glass $9 / bottle $33
RIOJA, Calma, Rioja Alta, Spain 2010 Organic Deep ruby 100% organic Tempranillo . Black and blue fruits on the smoky nose, with complicating notes of smoked meat, vanilla and licorice. Shows a wild side, offering chewy cassis and bitter cherry flavors with a suggestion of beef jerky. Finishes with repeating smokiness and smooth, harmonious tannins. DUORO, Quinto do Crasto Red, Portugal 2012 Quinta do Crasto is located on the right bank of the river Douro, halfway between Régua and Pinhão. The wine is a traditionally-styled blend of four of Portugal's indigenous grape varieties.
